Cuboree 2023

Over the weekend of the 29th of September to the 1st of October 2023 we welcomed 779 Cubs and 180 leaders to Cuboree at Grosvenor Hall, Ashford.

A clear moonlit night provided a fantastic back drop to our opening ceremony before everyone headed to bed so they were ready for the exciting weekend ahead.

We woke to a sunny, warm blue skied day and once breakfast was over, everyone lined up to get ready for the days activities. The stage crew made sure everyone was having fun before they headed off for a day of abseiling, archery, fencing, laser tag, giant zipwire, jacob’s ladder and many more plus of course the 3G swing! All lead by the fantastic Kingswood activity team.

To everyone's surprise at lunchtime two ice cream vans appeared and everyone got a free ice cream which were very popular!

Each attendee received a train ticket and they had to ask each member of the team for their stamp on the back which proved very popular.

After dinner we had a fantastic campfire with many leaders and Cubs leading their favourite songs bringing everyone together.

On Sunday after breakfast there were another two activity sessions followed by a picnic lunch which was then followed by a closing ceremony. During the camp the cubs could nominate cubs and leaders for the awards.

The winners were:

  • Bravest Cub - Ziggy from the 21st Medway Loudest Scream - Laila from the 14th Canterbury Personal Growth - Oliver from Bethersden
