Cub and Beaver Adventure days

The sun shone and the rain poured down on the Saturday 11th May which saw the first two Adventure Day sessions with Cubs and Beavers coming from all around the county to enjoy over 20 different activities at Lower Grange Farm.  They could try zorbing, climbing on the Kent Scout mobile tower with the climbing team, bouldering, pedal carts, challenges involving rockets and gutter pipes, an obstacle course, cave bus and archery.  They could have a go at gold panning and test their skill dropping a penny in a pool, as well as crazy golf, crossbows, disc guns and remote control cars!!   The ever popular mop football saw children slipping and sliding around on a very slippery tarpaulin whilst trying to score a goal using a mop - now is this a skill for life?

Sunday was hot, hot hot!!! and  saw another two sessions happen with children coming from as far as Folkestone and New Romney.  Overall almost 800 young people came along and had a great time.

Gallons of squash and 80 packets of biscuits were consumed along with copious amounts of tea and coffee!  Everyone got the chance too to purchase the brand new celebratory ten year Lower Grange Farm badge which had only arrived the day before!

A massive thanks to all the volunteers who gave up their weekend to give young people such an amazing experience.  Thanks too to the activity staff at Lower Grange Farm - we couldn't have done it without you!
