Leaders Weekend 2024

Over the weekend of 16th to 18th February 2024, we held our biggest yet, section leaders weekend at Kingwood Adventure Centre at Ashford. It was attended by 88 volunteers from Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Network and the County Team.

Friday evening started with a school-themed quiz led by Pete and Emma from the Scout section. This was won by the ‘Kingswood Buddies’, who came first out of the 12 teams which all had some wonderful school-themed names. The rest of the evening was spent socialising and catching up with old friends along with making new ones.

Saturday morning started early with breakfast from 07:45 followed by a day of activities including Obstacle Challenge, Leap of Faith, Problem-Solving, Archery and, of course, the famous 3G Swing.

In the evening, sections got together with their Volunteer Leed before heading to the yurt, with its wonderfully warm log burner stove, for an evening of chat and laughter.

Waking on Sunday morning, after breakfast, circus skills were available for those who could stay before heading home.

This year, for the first time, members of the Network section attended. Everyone had a fantastic time trying new things, making memories and, of course, the iconic 3G swing scream could be heard.
