Leaders Weekend 2022

The Leaders Weekend was held at Grosvenor Hall (Kingswood) over the weekend of the 18th to 20th February 2022. We were in the throes of storm Eunice on the first day so 45 leaders joined us on Friday with another 10 from Saturday morning. We had a large number of participants from across Beaver, Cubs and Scout sections.

Once everyone had arrived, we had our dinner and settled into our rooms and then met at 'The Venue' which was going to be our indoor space for the weekend. Proceedings stated with quiz by Hannah and Gavin which was great fun including the old favourites Kim's game and highest shoe stacking. The rest of the evening was spent catching up with old friends and making new ones.

On Saturday we had a nice lie in with breakfast being at 8:45am and activities starting shortly after then as everyone was split into 4 teams. Everyone who wished, participated in different activities from the newly upgraded zip wire to abseiling, archery to the 3G swing, giant meccano and problem solving where lots of networking and personal challenges were met.

Towards the end of the afternoon everyone spilt up into their sections for planning and brainstorming which was followed by dinner. After dinner we went to the yurt(with log burner) for a campfire with all our old favourite songs led by Janice, before going back to the Venue under the light of the moon for the rest of the evening.

After breakfast on Sunday the teams were back doing activities with and extra session of zip wire for those who had not had a chance and some indoor climbing due to the weather, lunch and then heading home - What a great weekend!

Over 500 pictures and videos were taken by attendees over the weekend, these have been consolidated and a selection have been used for the gallery and video.
