Kent Cub Challenge 2012
The annual Kent Cub Challenge held at Lower Grange Farm saw 24 teams from all around the county compete for the special trophy and the prizes donated by Southern Water. The whole event was based on Southern Water's Waterwise activity badge and the Cubs had to complete 20 challenges which ranged from filtering water through to making music with bottles. There was a lot of fun to be had with buckets of water carefully balanced on heads too! Cubs were kept busy the whole day and were eager to complete the challenges so they could earn their Waterwise Badge.
Badges and certificates were presented by Mr John Crooks from Southern Water, who was most impressed with the Cubs and their enthusiasm. He reminded them about the importance of saving water.
The scores were totted up and the winners announced:
1st Place - Dover B team
2nd Place - Tonbridge B team
3rd place - Sevenoaks
A huge thank you to all the leaders and helpers who came along to run the bases; special thanks to Nigel, Pat, Linda, Ken, Tony, Jim and Kim who prepared all the challenges and helped run the day. Thanks to Linda and Pam from Malling SAS who kept us all supplied with tea and squash.
