Kent Beaver Scouts visit The Rare Breeds Centre

Over 1300 Beaver Scouts and their Leaders took up the option of visiting ‘The Rare Breeds Centre at Woodchurch on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd September 2012.

They had a chance to meet the friendly farm animals; learn about wildlife, butterflies and the world of creepy crawlies.  After their picnic lunch they were treated to a Falconry display and Pig racing which was one of the highlights of the day!

The rest of the day was spent learning about Bushcraft  which is a special activity lead by Philip Brown from’ Badger Bushcraft’ as well as the ‘Mysterious Marsh’ woodland assault course, big red trailer rides and the new  indoor play barn  and lots more! A full day of exciting activities!

Kent Beavers Scouts made a donation to The Canterbury Oast Trust to commemorate the 21st Anniversary of the centre by presenting a cheque for £671 for the special work they do with disabled people.

The Beavers had a fantastic day out and have learnt lots of interesting as things about farm animals whilst having loads of FUN!
