30 Days Wild
World Environment Day 5th June was marked by Lydd Beavers and Cubs who coloured and placed posters around the district to raise awareness of the importance of looking after the environment.
The 30 Days Wild Challenge formed part of the Great Indoor Scouting Adventure. Random Acts of Wildness included: bird boxes; bird surveys; colouring; bug hotels; new ways with vegetables; photography; hikes; gardening; wormeries; and re-connection with nature.
Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers all joined in. Encouraged by Leaders and supported by their wonderful families, to do one wild thing a day for health, well-being and for the planet, they rose to the challenge in so many practical ways – we include just one example – there are many more!
Mum Zena from 1st Lydd said the whole adventure had been a great family teamwork event in constructing their delux Bug Hotel.
