Tree For All initiative

001 This weekend saw the Mayor of Gravesham, Harry Smith, join hundreds of Kent Beavers, Cubs, Explorers and Scouts to plant 2000 trees over 5 acres at Hopehill Meopham Scout District Campsite, as part of the Tree For All initiative.

Tree For All is a joint initiative between Scouting and the Woodland Trust that gives young people the chance to get to grips with nature.

It's all about encouraging them to take action today that will reap benefits for their children and their grandchildren, by helping create a thriving landscape.

The Scout Association and the Woodland Trust aim to plant 100,000 trees this year to mark the Centenary of Scouting, contributing to the Trusts plan of planting 12million trees over the next five years throughout the UK.
