Peter Pan Adventure Camp

They may have been on a Peter Pan Adventure camp,  but 140 girls and boys from 13 different colonies from around Kent were very grown up and brave Beavers at their very first outdoor camping experience!  The camp took place at Hamlet Wood campsite near Maidstone.  Just the perfect setting for a camp with lots of bluebells covering the woodland!

There were so many exciting activities to try: climbing, abseiling, crossbows, archery, music, first aid training, aerial runway, crafts and team games.   Not a minute to waste!

Each camping area took on the name from the famous JM Barrie story and made headdresses for the campfire circle which had all the sparkle and star dust you could ever wish for!

There was a special celebration cake for each camp zone to share.  Five very different cakes a tepee, a pirate ship, lost boys, a crocodile and Peter Pan all displayed on a wonderful map of Neverland!

All camp Leaders wore fancy dress to set the scene! Kathy Smith Assistant County Commissioner for Kent Beavers said ”The Beavers and their Leaders had a really action packed weekend and it was so exciting for the Beavers to camp out in tents! They had the time of their lives trying new skills and really rose to the challenge achieving their Pom Bear Adventure badge.

The Beaver team like the youngsters had a great weekend and can’t wait for the next one!
