Weald of Kent Rotary Walk
Several Kent Scout members from Sittingbourne, Deal and Maidstone West took part on the Weald of Kent Rotary Walk on Sunday, 10 June 2018 and enjoyed the day - particularly the end where they ate a plough mans lunch and strawberries in lovely sunshine.
The Scout Group that raises the most money will win the 2018 trophy for Scouts - the winners will be awarded the trophy at the Rotary club annual dinner in November 2018.
The Kent Scout Active Support assisted with the refreshments on the day.
The Weald of Kent Rotary organise the walk every year and participants raise money for Cancer Research and their own good cause - keeping 50% of the proceeds for that. You can find out about next year's walk which is on 9th June 2019.
On the 13th November the Rotary held it's annual dinner where they present trophies for those who have donated the most to Cancer Research. 5th Deal Scout Group were the worthy winners of the Scout Trophy and Peter Marsh, Scout Leader collected it on their behalf. Well done to all those who took part.
The Rotary were the recipients too of one of four countrywide awards from Cancer Research as over the last twenty years they have raised almost £290,000. A magnificent result.
