Cubs - Walk Like an Egyptian Challenge Hike

On Saturday the 11th March 2023, 85 Cubs in 12 teams from 10 packs, had a great time, on the Cubs Team Walk Like an Egyptian challenge hike.

As the sun came out the teams left the base at Shepherds Park Activity Centre(Faversham) and made their way off on the hike which had 6 Egyptian themed incident bases.

Base 1 - Make a bridge over the Nile using marshmallows and pasta

Base 2 - Cracking the hieroglyphic code

Base 3 - Make a piece of Egyptian themed jewellery

Base 4 - Can you relocate the pyramid moving only one piece at a time

Base 5 - Cubs are the first to find an ancient pyramid site and have to find some things in a scavenger hunt

Base 6 - Can you beat the traps in the Pharoah's tomb to find the treasure

After competing the hike everyone tucked into a reward of sausages and burgers with some hot chocolate before heading home.

A great time was had by all!

Over the course of the day all of the cubs challenged themselves and went away with a hike away in the bank and lots of other badgework ticked off towards their challenges.

We created a control room at HQ using the County GPS Trackers with a map projected on the wall to track the teams and county radios to keep in touch between bases). We highly recommend making use of these gadgets to enhance your walks they made a big difference.
