Kent County Show

This year the Kent County Show saw over 85,000 visitors attend.  With more emphasis on farming life the show was popular with adults and children alike.  Once again Kent Scouts were there showcasing Scouting and what we have to offer young people and adults alike.

The ever popular climbing wall was enhanced with additional features of prusicking, crate stacking and even ice climbing.  Children were able to have a go at the football crafts on offer and try their hand at the numerous football tables.  The Hullabaloo roadshow kept everyone entertained and a new feature included the “wobble board” which challenged people to the limit!

The hospitality tent dispensed hundreds of welcome cuppas to the public and the PR team were busy taking details of those interested and now it’s up to DCs to ensure they all join!

Kent Scouts have been a mainstay of the show for many years, and lots of our young people and adults assist with the cattle and sheep/goat stewarding—hard work but enjoyable.

Once again the Agricultural Society were impressed with Kent Scouts and will welcome us back next year—so put the date in your diaries now—15th, 16th and 17th July 2011.
