Kent Scouts appoint a new County Commissioner
We're pleased to announce that following the search for a new CC, The Scout Association has approved the appointment of Dean Harding as County Commissioner for Kent with effect from Easter 2016.
Dean is well known around the county as he is currently ACC Scouts, Deputy CC of the mid Kent cluster and DC of Gillingham, all positions he has held for many years.
Dean also still works with Scouts and Explorers at the 1st Gillingham Scout Group and is currently managing KIJ 2017.
Dean works as an account manager for a chemical manufacturer in Banbury and is married with 3 daughters all are involved in Scouting, two that are adult leaders and one who is a scout looking forward to celebrating their 14th Birthday at KIJ!
Dean is looking forward to a new challenge and hopes to make Scouting accessible to every young person in Kent.
On behalf of the search team I would like to thank all those who showed an interest in becoming the new County Commissioner for Kent. There was stiff competition and the search team had a hard task! My congratulations to Dean Harding, an admirable successor to our previous enthusiastic and hard-working CCs, and we look forward to Dean making his mark as he takes Kent Scouts forward as our CC.

Dean is a fantastically enthusiastic and experienced leader - he'll do amazing things to develop Scouting in Kent. I'm sure that everyone will, like me, do all we can to support him in this new role.
