Kent Scouts take to the white water
Seventy five Scouts, Explorers, Network and Leaders took to the slalom waters of the Lee Valley White Water centre, home of the Olympic slalom course, on Sunday 9th Oct for an intensive hour of intensive paddling.
Kent Scouts had exclusive use of the floodlit training course from 6-7pm and after a briefing from Peter Yates took to the water to test their ability and hone their skills in challenging conditions.
There were a few spills but 24 Leaders were on hand to assist rescue and give advice for the next attempt.
The number attending was up by 100% with half visiting for the first time with the next visit scheduled for spring next year so check the website for details nearer the time.
