Kent County Show - 11th-13th July 2008
Thousands of visitors flocked to the Kent Scout stand at this years Kent County Show. With a vast array of activities for young people and adults to have a go at – the stand was popular and packed to capacity throughout the three days.
The climbing, prusiking and crate stacking had hundreds of young people test their nerve and for some conquer their fear of heights. The monkey bridge was popular with younger children who had to balance and hold on tight.
The newest addition to the site was the “amazing maze” which saw lots of children cautiously step over the stepping stones, enter the tent of creepy crawlies and end in a thrilling toboggan ride.
Bats, whizzers and stained glass window making was popular amongst the crafty and hundreds of children left the site as tigers or butterflies from the ever busy face painters.
The PR team were kept busy in the hospitality tent signing up potential members and serving 2000 cups of tea and coffee.
Overall a fantastic event for scouting in Kent – the public was impressed with what we had to offer young people and adults.
