Howletts Wild Animal Park

On the 10th and 11th May 1500 Beaver Scouts, Leaders and Adults attended the Kent County Day at the animal Park. The weather was glorious and everyone had a superb time. Lots of families decided to join in and bring there other children so it became a family affair.

The Animal friends badge and work booklet which Howletts provided for each Beaver were very well received by everyone. The keeper gave talks at regular intervals on all the large animals which were very informative and pitched at a good level for the children. (They loved the Gorillas and some of there rather unusual antics!)

At the end of the day the Beavers were given a really nice goodie bag to take home with them which again were very good value.

The beaver team were helped by Michelle, Ken, Bunty and Nick an Explorer Leader. A big Thank you!

We have had lots of good feed back and it’s certainly an event that both Howlett’s and Kent Beaver scouts would like to repeat in the future. The staff commented on how well behaved the young people were which is a really positive note to end with!
