Reach 2009

Kent Scouts once again reach out to the local community.

At the annual event known as reach 84 of Kent’s very own explorer scouts were joined by 62 young people with disabilities and learning difficulties from all over Kent.

They were there for a day of adventure, fun and challenge as well as making new friends and renewing old friendships.

"The best part for me was that i got to work with a really happy lad who wanted to try everything and was so active. And it was really sunny which helped". said an explorer scout from the Dover area.

"Reach is about showing how inclusive Scouting can be” said the event organiser, Ian Dodds.  “Everything from archery to climbing and face painting to pedal-karting was on offer to our young guests with disabilities, and our Explorer Scouts did a fantastic job in helping them to take part and enjoy their day.”
