Kent Beaver Scouts Spread Their Wings!
100 boys and girls from Maidstone East & South, Medway Towns, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and the Weald worked on the Air Activities badge at Lower Grange Farm at their annual County sleepover!
They had a great weekend learning to fly an aeroplane on a simulator. They made paper planes, water rockets, flying saucers and learnt about flight though science! The Astrodome showed them all about the planets and the solar system which was amazing! The Beavers loved taking part in an Alien’s egg hunt in the woods, which was followed by a really special campfire and singing!
To top the bill Ed a Beaver Leader from 7th Tonbridge flew into Lower Grange Farm on Saturday afternoon by helicopter. What a thrill for everyone to look around the helicopter and chat about how it works.
I presented six Beavers from Headcorn Colony were presented with their Invicta award.
What an exciting experience for the 6 to 8 year olds! Learning through Scouting is so much FUN!
